Karushitos is a company founded in 2005 by Fernando López Gordillo dedicated to the production and trade of handmade products. They use flora to create fauna of the region. Their products are handmade and their objective is to raise awareness among children and promote creativity and imagination. Each piece becomes a character of a story that promotes values and teaches about the care of natural resources and environment. The word Karushitos comes from the Tojolabal and it means “Friend”. Karushitos’ products are made with guapinol seeds, acorn pod, jojoba seeds, cat’s claw (uncaria tomentosa), etc. which are seeds typically found in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas.
