Doizpe

Doizpe is a company founded in 2010 by Diana and Dora Izquierdo Pescador who are two sisters from Mexico City with the objective of designing and commercialize leather bags with an authentic Mexican touch. They both wanted to start a business that would involve manufacturing in Mexico and also that would support indigenous communities. In 2012, Doizpe was part of the First Directory of Mexican Designers, which can be found in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. It has also participated in many different exhibits like the “Fashion World” by Jean Paul Gautier, and “Pop-Up Spicy Mexican Design” in San Francisco, California. Even though the firm is based in Mexico City, all Doizpe bags are made in Leon, Guanajuato using only materials from Guadalajara. The details of these bags are made by Mexican indigenous people from different states such as Yucatan, where Doizpe supports indigenous women through the foundation ""Taller Maya"".  The name Doizpe comes from the initials of Dora Izquierdo Pescador who is the principal designer of the brand. She studied Industrial Design in Mexico and in Australia with training in Parsons Fashion Design in New York City.
