Carmen Aguilar Juárez’s embroideries are a family tradition that has been passed from generation to generation. Her blouses have special and unique designs that have been made in a loom. This amazing activity is mostly common in indigenous towns and is performed by women only, who at the age of 12 they start learning how to use a backstrap loom. In the past, weaving’s only purpose was for dressing their family and saints, however, currently it has become a very important economic activity for some families.
